In september 2017 we went to Japan! We stayed in Tokyo for a week and on our first full day there we decided to go Go-Karting. Before we went to Japan I already saw some videos on Social Media about the Go-Karting and I was super excited! We can both confirm that this was absolutely the most fun thing during our whole holiday while staying in Japan. We even wanted to do it again in those few days we were in Tokyo..
Street Kart has several ‘Shops’ in Tokyo. This means that they have more locations with different courses to do by kart. We chose for Akihabara. At the time we picked the A1-M1 course for about 2 hours and then we would drive by Rainbow Bridge / Odaiba / Tokyo Tower / Ginza. The price is 10.000 / 8.500 yen. If you like their Facebook page, then you would get a discount and pay 8.500 yen. Included in the price are the cart rental, a costume/onesie, gas, insurance, and tax. It’s important you bring your original driver’s license and a foreign one (with Japanese translation). Otherwise, they will not let you drive! Also, you have to bring your passport of course. We picked the Pikachu onesies, hehe.. We met Thomas from the UK over there and with some French people, we took the course.
Below are some videos which have made with my SJCAM SJ7 STAR. You can also rent actioncams (also from SJCAM) at MariCar. We were so stupid that we put our actioncams a bit too low and we found out about that while we were taking a break at Odaiba.. So you can probably notice that in the videos.. Sorry about that!
We were not allowed to bring our phones with us, so we stored all our stuff in the lockers at Street Kart. Therefore I couldn’t shoot some photos of everything we saw. That’s why I’ll put some photos below (not mine) of what we saw.
Later that week we were in Shibuya at the famous Shibuya Crossing and there we also saw the Street Kart karts. So nice!
